You can still send the answers to Assignment #6 and the Project in the following days. But try to send them as soon as possible, preferably by Saturday night, so as to leave enough time for grading and aggregating the grades. Answers sent after Sunday, Tir 16 will likely be ignored.

No feedback will be given for the project, so try to improve your essay by consulting grammar references, dictionaries, thesauri and web resources, and by using web search engines. The deadline is however extended until Wednesday, Tir 12.

  1392-03-15 June 05, 2013 01:04 PM
The answers to assignment #5 and quiz #3 are now available at the Assignments section and the Quizzes directory at the Resources section, respectively.

  1392-03-09 May 30, 2013 12:32 PM
Important note: The exam will *not* be open book, will *not* have bonus points, and will be harder than the midterm exam! Yet, you will be able to get the full mark by focusing on and thoroughly studying the course content as described below.
______________________________________

The final exam will cover all class material, compulsory quizzes, compulsory assignments, and the midterm exam, probably with emphasis on post-midterm material. This includes:
- Units 0-19 and 33-39 from the textbook, including both left-hand and right-hand pages
- The two outside-the-book passages taught in the class, i.e. the one about password management challenges and the other titled "Computers Make the World Smaller and Smarter", including their associated exercises which come at the end of each. You can find these at the Resources section.
- Assignments 2-5 (Assignment 1 may be included for bonus points). Note that Assignment 5 is the same as units 18 & 19 of the textbook.
- Quizzes 2 & 3 (Quiz 1 may be included for bonus points)
- The midterm exam
- Class notes uploaded to the Resources section

  1392-02-30 May 20, 2013 05:21 AM
A quiz will be given on the last session, this Tuesday. It can cover any part of the course so far, but it will mainly cover the course content taught after the mid-term exam. (units 15-19 and 34-37, and also the mid-term exam itself)

  1392-02-18 May 08, 2013 07:15 AM
Thursdays' extra sessions (this week and next week) will be held at Room 201.

  1392-02-13 May 03, 2013 02:11 PM
See the Assignments section for Assignment #5. The deadline is Ordibehesht 19, late night.

  1392-03-07 May 28, 2013 05:57 AM
From now on, and until the end of Ordibehesht, we will have an extra session every Thursday, at 12:30-15:00. These sessions will just begin this Thursday, Ordibehesht 12.

Although it's not compulsory to attend these sessions, these will be "official" sessions and you are strongly encouraged to attend them in order to not miss course content.

Also, be informed that there will be a quiz at the next Tuesday session, on Ordibehesht 17.

  1392-02-10 April 30, 2013 06:52 PM
The solution to the midterm exam has been uploaded to the Resources sections.

Also, the grades for Assignment #1 and Quiz #1 have been uploaded to the Grades section. Email mh_ahmadi@ce if you want to object to your grades or have questions about them.

  1392-03-07 May 28, 2013 05:44 AM
The midterm exam will be held on Thursday, at 14:00, in room 101.

  1392-01-30 April 19, 2013 08:31 PM
The midterm exam will cover units 0-14, unit 33, Assignments #2-4 and Quiz #2. Assignment #1 and Quiz #1 may be used for bonus points. But you still might encounter some unfamiliar vocabulary in the readings in the exam, where you should exercise your skills in "guessing meaning from context", as you learned in unit 0 and Assignment #2.

You can find answers to all assignments so far at the Assignments section. For the quizzes, you can find the answers at the Resources section.

  1392-01-20 April 09, 2013 05:56 PM
The midterm exam will be held on Thursday, Ordibehesht 5, at 14:00.

This was determined at today's class through discussion and voting.

  1392-01-18 April 07, 2013 09:20 AM
The midterm exam will cover all units covered before the exam is held, and also the assignments, except Assignment #1 which may only be covered for bonus marks.

To get a feeling about how the exam will probably look like, you can take a look at the "Exams" section in the following page:
http://sharif.edu/~ramsin/index_files/undergradcourse_ECSE.htm

Also, take a look at the take-home Quiz #1 in the Resources section. You can answer the Quiz and deliver it on the next Tuesday session for extra marks.

  1392-01-17 April 06, 2013 08:49 PM
The answer to Assignments #1 and #2 have been uploaded to the Assignments section. The answers to the Assignments #3 and #4 will be uploaded soon.

Also, the assignments are being graded, and hopefully their grades will be uploaded soon, too.

Sorry for the delay.
