Evm6xProfiling, PC-DSP Data Communication Methods, Home

This work was part of DOMSAT-II project in Iran telecommunication Research Center (ITRC). The goal of the project is the design of a complete satellite-based SCPC-DAMA network system. This system will be used for providing rural telephony services in the country via now Intelsat-902 and then Venus (Zohreh) national satellite. Here is the abstract and some of the figures of my technical report for the project. A copy of the whole report may be acquired from ITRC. Abstract

Exchanging data between a host program in the PC and a client program running on target DSP board is an essential part of many DSP related implementation projects. In this technical report several data communication methods have elaborated including Host Port Interface (HPI), PCI FIFOs, Mailbox and Real-Time Data eXchange (RTDX). These methods have been described separately considering TMS320C6x Evaluation Module (Evm6x) as the target device. A unified application is also presented for testing and time profiling of each method.
